Need help with a wild rabbit?

DHRS can not care for or take in wild rabbits

If you are unsure if a rabbit is wild or domestic, please send a picture to CONTACT@DAYTONHOUSERABBIT.ORG

It is illegal for anyone to possess a native wild animal unless permitted by the OhioDivision of Wildlife.
If you find an injured WILD rabbit:

Cover with a box or crate with a towel or blanket and place it in a dark, quiet place.

Do not offer the animal food or water and please do not attempt to care for the animal yourself.

Contact a humane society, veterinarian, or wildlife rehabilitator and arrange transport to a licensed facility immediately.
